Challenge

The Obermain Therme in Bad Staffelstein invites you to relax : with around 3,000 m2 of water surface, and more than 26 indoor and outdoor pools in the swimming pool and sauna area , there is a wide variety to choose from. The operators invest continuously, modernize and expand to keep the spa attractive and to offer their guests an enjoyable visit.

For the skin, salt water feels like wellness, however pool water treatment of salt water is a challenge. About 90 per cent of the pools are salt water, with salt content ranging from 1.5 to 12 per cent.

 

Solution

For decades the spa has been equipped with Wallace & Tiernan® products for pool water treatment. In Staffelstein, they chose V10k™ full vacuum chlorine gas feeders for disinfection. Georg Csontos, chemical engineer at Evoqua Water Technologies points out: "Due to its vacuum technology chlorine gas disinfection is very safe. The proven V-notch makes sure that the dosing is very accurate." The method has not changed for decades.

In the Obermain Therme, DEPOLOX® Pool E 700 P Pool Management Systems are used to continuously control the most important parameters of the pool water. The combination of a DEPOLOX 5 flow cell module and the 700 P electronic module makes the application very special: In addition to the typical parameters of free chlorine, pH value and ORP, the conductivity parameter in the pool is controlled as well.

Results

The technical operator of the German pool is pleased of the smooth operation of the new equipment, installed in February. When it comes to the modernization of the next pools he will choose Wallace & Tiernan® Pool controllers again.
