The principle of metal plating is almost identical for all applications. Most of today's applications and advanced baths require the use of electric current. In these so-called electrodeposition processes, depending on the exact application, either soluble anodes or inert titanium anodes may be used. The process works as the metal to be plated is dissolved in the electrolyte and the object to be plated is catholically polarized.
