Description

CT Series Carbon Towers are designed for applications requiring a carbon filter that need hot water sanitization or steam stripping for dependable operation. The CT Series offering includes four different tank sizes to enable flow rates between a minimum of 40 and 532 maximum gallons per minute flows (151 and 2,013 liters per minute).

Our four standard sized vessels are constructed of 316L stainless steel including schedule 10 stainless steel piping to accommodate varying flow ranges. This construction allows for steam sanitization.

Features

Standard Features

The following features have been incorporated into the standard offering of CT Series Carbon Towers:

  • Vessels are designed for hot water sanitization and steam vapor stripping/sanitization, bottom and/or top entry, for removing Volatile Organic Carbons (VOC’s) such as trihalomethane.
  • Standard flow rates are based on 1 gpm/ft3 forward flow and 10 gpm/ft² backwash flow (dependent upon carbon density and particle size).
  • Advanced Well Screen design internals to achieve uniform distribution during draw-off and backwashing.
  • Minimum carbon bed depth of five feet for maximum removal capacity via contact time.
  • Up to 50% bed expansion to accommodate backwash for a variety of carbon media.
  • Three operational modes: Wash Cycle including Backwash, Service, and Offline (Manual Steam Stripping and Sanitization).

CT Series Benefits

  • Optimally designed for pretreatment applications requiring removal of odors, off-taste, chlorine, chloramine, and many types of organic contaminants.
  • Full drainability using scavenger screens ensures continuous complete removal of condensate during steaming operations.
  • Customization available such as:
    • Higher flow rates
    • Alternate manway types
    • Temperature transmitter and control probes
    • Special carbon attributes
    • Sampling ports
    • Alternate finish requests are welcome
  • CT Series Vessels are easily integrated with Evoqua’s proprietary Heat Optimized Technology (HOT) offering.

Standard Vessel Options

  • Four standard size vessels built of 316L stainless steel including piping to accommodate varying flow ranges.
  • ASME Code Pressure Vessel rated for full vacuum and up to 100 PSIG.
  • Unit operation is available with automatic control of valves by a Programmable Logic Controller (PLC) for wash cycles and service needs. Steam Stripping and Sanitization (Offline Mode) are performed manually.
