Pironox® Advanced Reactive Media System

Compact, cost-effective metal contaminant removal
The Pironox® Advanced Reactive Media System removes selenium, mercury, and other heavy metals and metalloids from power plants (FGD), mining, refinery, and other industrial water and wastewater to meet National Pollutants Discharge Elimination System (NPDES) limits and the newly proposed effluent limitation guidelines and standards for the steam electric power generating industry.

The Pironox advanced reactive media acts as an electron generator to chemically reduce soluble metal cations and oxyanions to insoluble forms. During the reaction, the treated contaminants are removed by surface adsorption and chemical incorporation into the iron oxidation products.​
